Our Story - The History Behind the KidsGroFo App
How it all began...
"Our first child was just six months old when we went to a children's clothing store in the fall. Since we wanted to go on vacation to the beach for the first time the following summer, we were looking for a UV-protective T-shirt.
There was a shirt in the store that we liked very much. It was very reduced in price and the last of its kind.
Still, we didn't buy it because we weren't sure if our child would be in the right size for it in the coming summer.
That's when we asked ourselves if there wasn't an app that could predict a child's future dress size based on their gender, age, and current height. Nothing corresponding could be found in the respective app stores."
So we decided to create an app ourselves to help parents buy clothes in the right size for their own kids or friends' kids."

Does this question sound familiar?
You want to give the child of friends/relatives something to wear, but you don't know the current dress, cap or shoe size.
Probably everyone has faced this problem at some point.
We were looking for a way to avoid constantly asking friends/relatives for their kids' current dress size.
It made sense to include a function in the app that takes over this task.
By allowing friends and relatives to access their own children's measurement data, they can find out about their current height anytime, anywhere.
So if, for example, grandma wants to give her granddaughter something to wear, it is no longer necessary to ask for the dress size.
The KidsGroFo App
Our App
KidsGroFo is an abbreviation for Kids Growth Forecast. We started creating the app in the summer of 2021 and were able to release it in the app stores at the end of 2022.
Our Mission
We created the KidsGroFo app to help parents around the world buy the right size clothes for their children. We have achieved this goal with the app.
Furthermore, we strive to continue to develop the app and make it more useful by adding new features all the time.
The team behind KidsGroFo
The KidsGroFo app has been designed and developed by Oliver Mathis since the end of 2012. For this purpose, in the spring of 2021, KidsGroFo GmbH & Co. KG was founded. Oliver Mathis is a father of 2 children and knows the problem with clothing sizes for growing children.
In 2021, a partner was then acquired in the form of 4D Media GmbH from Düsseldorf, which provides support in programming the app for Apple iPhones as well as smartphones with Goggles Android operating system for KidsGroFo.

The KidsGroFo app was funded at launch by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany as part of the "MID Digi Plus" program.
Startpunkt Consulting UG from Wuppertal in particular provided us with a great deal of support when we applied for the funding. It also advises us on marketing and press relations.
